IAR CE requirement checker

Do I need IAR continuing education?

Answer a few quick questions. You’ll see what NASAA publishes for your state, the general annual credit framework, and course options to compare with your FinPro balances and prior Course IDs. Nothing you choose here is saved or sent anywhere.

This guide is optional. Already know what you need? Go straight to the courses and enroll.

1 · YearWhich year are you checking?

IAR CE runs by calendar year. Results, start dates and deadlines follow the year you pick.

Registered in more than one state? Check each one. The requirement follows where you are registered as an IAR, not where your firm is.

3 · Your registrationAre you registered as an investment adviser representative (IAR)?
4 · FINRAAre you also registered with FINRA as a broker-dealer agent?

Dual registrants may be able to apply FINRA’s Regulatory Element CE toward part of the requirement.

5 · Earlier yearsAre you catching up on an earlier year?

Most people can answer No. Choose Yes only if FinPro still shows an earlier year as unfinished.

6 · Our coursesHave you already taken any of our courses?
Optional · mark the ones you’ve completed

A course can earn credit only once, even in a later year, so we leave these out of every suggestion, including the pair price. Finished one recently and it isn’t in FinPro yet? Tick “Not in FinPro yet”.

Our NASAA-approved courses

Compare our courses with your remaining credits

Each course is text-only, on demand and worth 6 credits in one category. $49 per course, or $89 when you buy both courses of a designated pair in one order, plus applicable tax. Each pair contains 6 Ethics and Professional Responsibility credits plus 6 Products and Practice credits: 12 credits in total. That total does not establish your remaining requirement or guarantee accepted credit. Check your FinPro balances, prior Course IDs, jurisdiction and firm guidance before buying.

The $89 price only applies when both courses of one pair are in the same order.

Your next step

See exactly what you still owe in FINRA FinPro

Your IAR CE transcript and status live in your FINRA FinPro account. We can’t see your record, and nobody but you can sign in to it. FinPro shows which years and categories are still open.
